Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home is the hit event of 2021 and is quickly rising the ranks of the biggest blockbuster superhero movies of all time. With fans dying to see countless tributes to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's past web-slinger outings, not to mention Maguire and Garfield themselves, the MCU's Spider-Man threequel somehow exceeded a level of hype that had never been seen before.

No Way Home was chock full of incredible moments for fans of all levels, featuring everything from Garfield's Peter Parker redeeming himself by saving Zendaya's MJ to Willem Dafoe fully embracing his villainous Green Goblin within the MCU. Even so, almost nothing compared to the excitement fans felt when the film's three sticky superheroes joined forces for the comic book movie event of a lifetime.

Although fans discerned through trailers and clips that the Statue of Liberty would be the site of No Way Home's climactic battle, the final cut delivered a moment that went beyond Spidey fans' wildest dreams. Now, as the threequel's theatrical run continues, fans are getting a look at the earliest ideas for how this final battle scene came together.

Tom, Tobey, & Andrew Team Up in Concept Art

Maciej Kuciara, a concept artist on Spider-Man: No Way Home, shared the first official image of concept art featuring Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield's heroes in the final battle of the film on Twitter.

The image shows off a golden-lit Statue of Liberty, complete with the renovations adding Captain America's shield to the statue's outstretched arm:

On top of each of the crown's spikes are all three Spider-Men with Holland in the middle, Maguire on the left, and Garfield on the right. In the final cut, the three swung up to these positions on top, Lady Liberty's head as they stood ready to face Electro, Sandman, and the Lizard, yet never appeared as such on each of the spikes:

Kuciara included the following caption with the image as well:

"One of many frames I worked on for Spiderman: No Way Home together with my buddy @okon_marek who built this amazing set (iterated for purpose of each concept art)."

A Trio of Spider-Men Ready for Battle

Tom Holland had plenty of incredible moments with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in their short time together, from making a Spidey Science Bros team to simply meeting them after their introduction via Sling Ring. However, nothing made quite the impact that the final battle did, featuring glorious shots of the three heroes side-by-side-by-side.

While it's unclear how long ago this design was conceived, it's clear that the Statue of Liberty was in play for use in the final No Way Home battle for quite some time. As the scene came to fruition upon the film's worldwide debut, the action, drama, and humor that came from Tom, Tobey, and Andrew all showing their skills together was simply a can't-miss moment in a can't-miss movie.

As the Spider-Man threequel moves further along into its theatrical run, fans should have the opportunity to see more images like this one from scenes that were kept secret for most of the past year. Whether more will come from the battle sequence specifically is a mystery, but even this piece gives just enough to evoke incredible memories of how the scene played out on screen.
