With Spider-Man: No Way Home poised to be the biggest film release since Avengers: Endgame, it's no surprise Sony and Marvel are already beginning to plan for a follow-up. Recent comments from producer Amy Pascal revealed Sony's intent on developing a second trilogy with Tom Holland's Spidey, likely to focus on his college years. But with No Way Home having been described as Spider-Man's Endgame, it'll be a tough task to match the anticipation and scale in a fourth outing.

As Venom: Let There Be Carnage brought Eddie Brock and the Symbiote into the MCU, many have already begun speculating Tom Holland's Spider-Man will face-off with Tom Hardy's Venom in the planned fourth installment.

Under a week before No Way Home hits theaters, Tom Holland has revealed he already has an idea of the fourth Spider-Man film and has even pitched it to the studio.

During a recent interview with Fandom, Tom Holland revealed he already pitched a potential fourth Spider-Man film plot to Sony.

Before commenting on his ideas for a fourth outing, the British star first told that if it's time for him to leave Spider-Man behind for someone else to take over, he "will do that proudly" having "achieved everything that [he] wanted to in this world:"

“It’s been an incredible journey so far and if it’s time for me to hang up the cape and let the next person take over, I will do that proudly knowing that I’ve achieved everything that I wanted to in this world. And when I say this world I mean the MCU, I don’t mean ‘this world’ like in the actual world. So yeah, I feel pretty good about the future of Spider-Man, and I’m happy to let someone else don the suit, but I also would love to squeeze back into that spandex again.”

When asked what he'd like to explore in a potential follow-up to No Way Home, Holland revealed "there is one idea that [he has]" and has "pitched to the studio," but revealing it now would spoil No Way Home

“That’s a great question. The truthful answer is I don’t know. There is one idea that I have, that I have pitched to the studio — but by telling you that idea I’d be ruining this movie, so I’m going to have to keep that one for myself.”

What Could Happen in Spider-Man 4?

Since Tom Holland claims revealing his Spider-Man 4 pitch would spoil No Way Home, the threequel may leave some set-up for what's to come despite concluding a trilogy.

An obvious contender to open Holland's second Spider-Man trilogy would be a Venom-centric flick, especially since Eddie Brock and his Symbiote companion were brought into the MCU with the post-credits scene of Let There Be Carnage

Alternatively, prior to Multiverse plans falling into place, an early pitch for No Way Home would have involved Kraven the Hunter, so perhaps some of those ideas may be moved over into the next adventure.

Whatever threat Spidey may be facing, it's bound to make for a distinctly different movie as Peter Parker is expected to finish high school with No Way Home, setting up a potential move to college in his next outing.

So far, both of Tom Holland's Spider-Man solo outings have ended on post-credits cliffhangers. Homecoming saw Aunt May discovering Peter Parker's heroic identity while Far From Home revealed it to the entire world. With No Way Home supposedly ending the current trilogy, perhaps it may be the first to leave off on a round ending, although some plot threads may remain open for the potential follow-up trilogy.
