Since the conclusion of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series on May 4th, the internet has been buzzing with both news and speculation about what's next for Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, and what will next Star Wars animated series will be? What we have learned so far is Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, Captain Rex, and perhaps Boba Fett (Where?) are reported to appear in the second season of The Mandalorian this fall setting up what could be a future Star Wars Rebels sequel series.

According to Kessel Run Transmissions, the upcoming sequel series to Star Wars Rebels will feature The Clone Wars signature animation style as opposed to the style showcased in the original Star Wars Rebels

Check out this news in the video below, starting around the 10:50 mark:

"I should also mention that the animation is 100% like Clone Wars. It's not, um, the old Rebels animation style."

While early seasons of The Clone Wars are often criticized for their animation style, the design continued to improve through the years until it climaxed with the masterful artistry fans received in the final season of the series. Even though this new series looks to be a sequel to Star Wars Rebels, it makes sense Lucasfilm Animation wants to stick with this new, advanced animation style. It also means this new series will continue to deliver more of the stunning visuals enjoyed in The Clone Wars final season.
