The Mandalorian has consistently made headlines in the Star Wars fandom as of late. From multiple directors declaring their involvement to various teases of the show's second season, and even Baby Yoda topping the most-searched Star Wars character chart, the series continues to build hype in preparation of its return to Disney+ this October. Casting announcements have also been plentiful, with the recent report of Temuera Morrison coming back to the franchise as Boba Fett and the possibility of Rosario Dawson debuting the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano all in this upcoming season. Tano's appearance in The Mandalorian could have major implications for the show's direction, and rumors might just confirm more familiar characters will be running into Mando and the Child.

RUMOR

Insider Noah Outlaw has recently tweeted to share that the Star Wars Rebels character Sabine Wren will make an appearance alongside Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian's second season.

WHAT THIS MEANS

While this is still just a rumor and has not been officially confirmed, Sabine Wren's presence in the popular show has been widely discussed by a number of outlets since the report of a live-action Ahsoka Tano hit the news. The last time audiences saw both of these characters was in the series finale of Star Wars Rebels, as they were heading off in search of the Jedi, Ezra Bridger. That installment took place just after the events of Return of the Jedi, and with the first season of The Mandalorian occurring about five years after that same film, it's very likely that Tano and Wren are currently on the quest to find their old friend.

The reasoning for their appearance in the first live-action Star Wars television show probably centers around Baby Yoda. The Child's origins are still unknown to fans, but it wouldn't be surprising to find that both Tano and Wren are somehow aware of his existence or are searching for him as well. Another important detail is that Sabine is a Mandalorian herself, and her mother was the leader of one of the most powerful clans in Mandalore. It's known she has a history with the Darksaber, which was seen in The Mandalorian's first season finale in the hands of Moff Gideon. Her possible involvement in the Great Purge and the Covert might spell extensive ramifications on the story of The Mandalorian and the future of Star Wars projects, since there was already a rumor of a sequel to Star Wars Rebels earlier this year. The fandom will undoubtedly persist in their speculation as new reports keep releasing and the second season's premiere slowly inches closer.
