Ms. Marvel is set to introduce a brand-new hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the form of Kamala Khan. The character will be played by newcomer Iman Vellani, and she will be joined by a stacked ensemble of stars including the likes of Aramis Knight, Zenobia Shroff, and Yasmeen Fletcher.
Kamala Khan is one of the most popular characters in the comics, as evidenced by the overwhelmingly positive reception toward the Muslim hero. As a result, the anticipation is high for her live-action debut in the MCU.
Plot details of Ms. Marvel are still being kept under wraps, but the series is expected to do a deep dive into the origin story of Kamala. On top of that, the show will also give emphasis to its representation aspect.
So far, production has already wrapped for Ms. Marvel, and it was recently confirmed that the series is still poised to premiere later this year on Disney+ alongside Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye.
Now, new evidence suggests that marketing for the Iman Vellani-led project has begun.
MARKETING FOR MS. MARVEL
Hot Topic, as first reported by Murphy's Multiverse, unveiled a new batch of official merchandise for Ms. Marvel.
The outlet showcased several t-shirts to promote the upcoming Disney+ series, featuring the official logo of the show.
Another t-shirt design from the listing shows off the iconic S from the logo that signifies the powers of the titular hero.
WHEN WILL MS. MARVEL BE RELEASED?
This latest batch of merchandise could hint that marketing for Ms. Marvel has unofficially started online. This could also indicate that Ms. Marvel will be the next Disney+ series to premiere after What If...? wraps up its run.
Looking at the current schedule, it's possible that Ms. Marvel will premiere around the last week of October 2021, considering that What If...? could potentially wrap its 10-episode slate right around mid-October. The number of episodes that Marvel will release for What If...? is still unknown, and it's possible that the studio will debut more than one installment for its animated venture.
If so, then there's a strong chance that the premiere of Ms. Marvel will debut around the last week of September 2021. This creates an opportunity for Marvel Studios to showcase a consistent amount of content to build anticipation for its massive Phase 4.
It's worth pointing out that Ms. Marvel only has one sizzle reel under its belt that was unveiled during last December's Disney Investor Day. If Ms. Marvel will indeed premiere this 2021, there's a good chance that more trailers and promo spots will slowly be released in the coming weeks, and this could be where the studio will promote the show's official release date on the streaming service.
Ms. Marvel is expected to premiere in late 2021 on Disney+.
