Marvel Studios' What If...? has been an interesting ride for fans. The first animated project within MCU continuity has opened the doors to new timelines which feature wildly different events than the ones the world knows.
Thanks to The Watcher, audiences have been taken on a journey that has led them to meet the likes of Captain Carter, T'Challa Star-Lord, Doctor Strange Supreme––and a Gamora with Stark as her bestie? That last one will have to wait until next year to be explained.
The show's finale saw The Watcher building a group of heroes, including that odd Gamora cameo, to fend off the Infinity Ultron wrecking the Multiverse.
These Guardians of the Multiverse grouped together and bested the murder machine. Ultron and the backstabbing Killmonger (is there any other kind?) were left in a pocket dimension now safely protected by the formerly misguided Stephen Strange.
To commemorate the victory, Marvel Studios released a new poster featuring the team.

Headed by Captain Carter, the roster also includes Destroyer of Thanos Gamora, Party Thor, Doctor Strange Supreme, Post-Apocalyptic Black Widow, and T'Challa Star-Lord:

The show and its finale didn't quite hit the right spots for many people. That said, there are still plenty who enjoyed seeing all of the previously explored heroes team-up.
Even more so, seeing them all go up against the now fan-favorite Infinity Ultron was the icing on the cake.
With the show's first season over, fans will have to wait at least a year until they can see any of those stories continued. While details of the second season are sparse, it can be assumed that at least one of its episodes will continue that Captain Carter tease from after the finale's credits.
Then, of course, another installment will be the pushed-back Gamora/Tony Stark story. After all, everyone is dying to know not only how the two became friends but also how Gamora got that armor.
