Despite having told bonkers standalone stories across the multiverse throughout its first season, fans have known for some time now that What If...? was building towards something bigger.
With the threat of an Infinity Stone-powered Ultron looming across the multiverse, it appears The Watcher is preparing to assemble the Guardians of the Multiverse to take him on. The multiversal line-up is expected to include Captain Carter, T'Challa's Star-Lord, Doctor Strange Supreme, Party Thor, and Kilmonger's Black Panther.
Additionally, a recent poster confirmed the introduction of a version of Gamora who will don Thanos' iconic armor for her debut, although her exact origins are yet to be revealed.
With the Season 1 finale's premiere imminent, a new clip from the climactic episode was revealed which features Party Thor, The Watcher, and plenty of Ultron Sentries.
The Watcher Grabs Thor in Hilarious Clip
IGN exclusively revealed a clip from the What If...? Season 1 finale, which will see The Watcher breaking his oath by assembling the Guardians of the Multiverse to take on the Infinity Stone-powered Ultron.
The newly-released scene sees Chris Hemsworth's Party Thor fighting off endless waves of Ultron Sentries in Las Vegas as the robotic villain invades the multiverse.
Jeffrey Wright's Watcher observes the entire fight in giant form as he attempts to recruit Party Thor.
After plenty of quips and comedy, The Watcher eventually grows tired of waiting and grabs Party Thor from his world by force.

What If...?'s Heroes Assemble for Insane Finale
After discovering the origins of the multiverse's latest heroes throughout What If...?, fans will be excited to see the Guardians of the Multiverse join forces against Ultron. But it's unclear if this will mark the final appearances of these characters or if the door is open to their return in future seasons and other projects.
Captain Carter has already been confirmed to reappear in future seasons and Hayley Atwell is rumored to play the character in live-action in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Based on this, it wouldn't be surprising if other members of the team were to also return down the line either in animation or live-action.
What If...? has already been renewed for Season 2, which could include another Guardians of the Multiverse team-up against a new threat. With Chadwick Boseman sadly having passed, it's hard to predict if Marvel Studios would be open to using another voice actor to resurrect T'Challa's Star-Lord or if the Season 1 finale is truly the end for him.
The first eight episodes of What If...? are streaming exclusively on Disney+.
