Marketing for Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League is ramping up with the film set to release in just a few short weeks. Snyder's cut now has an official run time and will have chapter titles for each of the film's four hours.
A question on many minds is just how different this film will be to Joss Whedon's Justice League. A new trailer for Snyder's Justice League has shown there will be quite a few differences, particularly with the inclusion of DC characters who weren't in Whedon's cut. Jared Leto's Joker is set to make an appearance, and it looks like Martian Manhunter might also be involved.
Although, a recently released scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League proves these won't be the only DC references to look out for.
THE SNYDER CUT IS FULL OF DC EASTER EGGS
A new scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League has provided two whole minutes of new footage from Snyder's cut.
Speaking about the scene at IGN Fan Fest, Snyder said that the scene, titled "Mother Box Origins", has "a million Easter eggs in it." Snyder also said "it's really worth taking a long slow look at because it's really fun, and I think for fans it's really a treat."
Just two of these aforementioned Easter eggs can be seen in the images below. At the 0:30 mark, a graveyard with a crypt for the Wayne family can be seen. On one of the tombstones nearby it reads "Richard John Grayson" aka Dick Grayson/Robin.
Another still seen at 0:40 shows another tombstone with the name "Nora Allen", who fans will recognize as the mother of Barry Allen, aka the Flash.
SNYDER CUT DIVES INTO DC HISTORY
These Easter eggs are just a couple from a video that is packed with DC references. Snyder said that the CGI video contains a lot of images that he himself "doodled" and that they relate to "storylines that I had been working on if the film had been continued or if you look at the past histories."
The fate of Dick Grayson's Robin was first teased in Batman v Superman, although it was never expanded on. Snyder has hinted that fans will learn more about Robin's fate in his cut of Justice League, and if he's following certain comic book storylines it looks like Jared Leto's Joker may have something to do with it.
As for Nora Allen, in the comics, she was murdered by another super-powered speedster, usually Professor Zoom. However, in The Flash TV show this was altered to be the Reverse-Flash. In the DCEU it hasn't yet been explained who murdered Barry's mum but potentially we'll learn more in Snyder's Justice League which may pay off in Ezra Miller's upcoming The Flash movie.
This is sure to be just the first of many Easter eggs hidden in Zack Snyder's Justice League so fans should keep a keen eye out when it is released on March 18.
