What began as a rumor of a Hispanic actress being cast as a supporting lead over a year ago in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness quickly became more credible. Many had assumed that the role was for America Chavez, but the young age of the actress being cast had instilled doubt in some fans.

The Doctor Strange sequel's working title, “Stellar Vortex,” further pointed to the character's inclusion in the film. Eventually, Xochitl Gomez was cast with her role later confirmed as America Chavez at Disney's Investor Day presentation.

Production for the sequel recently wrapped, but that hasn't stopped the cast from being giddy for its eventual release, especially the young Xochitl Gomez.

It's always nice to see actors excited for their upcoming projects, but especially from younger actors like Gomez. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be her big break after her role in The Baby-Sitters Club.

Not only will the Doctor Strange sequel have America Chavez, but Tommy and Billy Maximoff, too. The sequel seems to be setting up the first indications of the Young Avengers forming, as Elijah Richardson's Eli Bradley only had limited screen time in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently scheduled to release in theaters on March 25, 2022.
