The Marvels is set to feature the MCU return of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers for another cosmic adventure, but she will not be alone this time around. Captain Marvel will be joined by two newcomers to the superhero scene, namely Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan. The sequel is directed by Candyman director Nia DaCosta, and it will also showcase a big-screen comeback for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.
Plot details for The Marvels are still being kept under wraps, but it has been reported that the sequel's main villain will be played by Zawe Ashton. Production for the sequel has recently wrapped, although reshoots could be on the horizon.
The Marvels became part of the recent schedule reshuffle of Marvel Studios, with the film being pushed back to 2023 instead of its original November 2022 release timeline. This means that the sequel's marketing is still far off.
Despite that, the delay didn't stop one of its lead stars from promoting the movie online.
Brie Larson Hypes Up The Marvels
Captain Marvel star Brie Larson shared a fresh look at The Marvels by unveiling a pendant with the sequel's logo on her Twitter account. Alongside the reveal, the actress reminded fans that the sequel will premiere on February 17, 2023.

A Powerful Cosmic Pendant?
Similar to its title, The Marvels also had a history of changing logo designs. The title card received multiple upgrades, with Marvel Studios integrating the superhero symbols of Kamala and Monica in it alongside a slight background change.
An updated symbol for The Marvels also surfaced online. It essentially combines the logos of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau (Spectrum), giving the spotlight to the titular heroes.
Brie Larson's latest image serves as a promotional tool for The Marvels, but eagle-eyed comic book fans could give new meaning to the reveal.
By looking closely, the pendant appears to resemble a similar-looking tool from the pages of Ms. Marvel comics. In Ms. Marvel (2014) Issue #18, Danvers gives the pendant to Kamala to serve as a reminder of their friendship while also revealing that it's a "GPS locator," meaning that the latter could seek the assistance of the former during a potential conflict.
If this is the MCU version of the device, then this essentially hints that Danvers will give this to Kamala at the tail-end of The Marvels, thus cementing their strong bond. The updated logo also suggests that the cosmic Avenger will also give it to Monica when it's all said and done.
As a result, all three female heroes will know whenever one of them is in trouble, thus leading to an eventual rescue mission.
The Marvels is set to premiere in theaters on February 17, 2023.
