The three year anniversary of the Justice League theatrical debut is mere days away, and hype is building up more than ever as the release for Zack Snyder's director's cut on HBO Max slowly comes closer. Snyder has spent the vast majority of 2020 taking a number of interviews to tease everything he is working on, and his cast and crew have helped mightily by taking to social media to give a glimpse into working on the movie behind the scenes.
Even though Darkseid will be rearing his head for this new cut, Steppenwolf still seems to be an important part of the Snyder Cut, as do the controversial motherboxes that unleashed his parademon army. Thanks to a new social media post, a new tease has just released featuring the first scene from the movie that set up this part of the story.

Snyder Cut cinematographer Fabian Wagner recently took to Instagram to reveal ten new photos showing a behind the scenes look at the introduction to the Amazonians in Justice League.
Along with the caption "Diana, Amazons and a Mother*!?*Box 🤘✌️ teach you a little History Lesson," these pictures show off the motherbox chamber in Themyscira set up in a green screen background with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, and Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe amongst a host of other Amazonian extras.
All the photos can be seen in the three images below:
The next set of photos are four shots of Gal Gadot, Connie Nielsen, and other extras as Amazonians on the Themyscira set working with the motherbox.
The last set of photos are of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman standing prepared against an oncoming car, and Amazonian extras on the Themyscira set working with the stand in for the motherbox.

While the Amazons and Themyscira weren't blessed with a lot of screen time in the theatrical cut of Justice League, they were the ones to first play host to Steppenwolf as he landed on Earth and began his searches for the motherboxes in his quest for world domination. Another plot point to look out for is how Snyder ends up working out the story to include both Steppenwolf and Darkseid as villains, especially considering that Darkseid is one of the most notable villains in the history of DC Comics.
In a team-up movie that also features major standalone heroes like Superman and Batman, there likely won't be a ton of shine for the Amazons as they make their return on HBO Max. However, the fact that this new cut is going to be four hours long does give the opportunity for a little more backstory and foundation for them after the events of Wonder Woman chronologically, so it will be interesting to find out how it all works itself out once the Snyder Cut ultimately arrives.
The Snyder Cut of Justice League is set to make its debut on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
