The Mandalorian had a successful second season run due to the presence of famous Star Wars characters from different pockets of the galaxy. as well as the one-of-a-kind dynamic between Mando and Grogu. Entering the show's sophomore season, expectations were sky-high, but it's safe to say that the hit Disney+ show delivered on all fronts .

One of the main reasons why The Mandalorian succeeded is the impressive portrayal of Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin . After only serving a brief time outside the helmet during Season 1, Pascal surprised everyone during the last two episodes of Season 2 when the actor removed his helmet multiple times for the Yoda-like toddler. In canon, this represents growth for the character, and it will be exciting if this trend continues in the already-confirmed third season.

Looking ahead, not much is known about the storyline of Season 3, especially after Grogu's departure from Mando's care. Despite that, Pascal unveiled new tidbits of information about the upcoming season, seemingly hinting that The Mandalorian will further expand its scope.

NEWS

While speaking with IndieWire , Pedro Pascal teased the upcoming storyline for The Mandalorian Season 3 and how that will connect to the recently announced spin-off series like The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic . The actor shared that he was already told “what's happening and what the plan is,” but as expected, he can't divulge those details.

Pascal revealed that there will be “many unexpected surprises and timelines that are going to be dealt with” in the next installment and subsequent spin-offs. The Din Djarin actor also hinted that some characters that are introduced in the spin-offs could potentially cross over into The Mandalorian :

“I am told what’s happening and what the plan is, but I can’t share it. They are in the expansion of this world, where there are so many unexpected surprises and timelines that are going to be dealt with. If the character were to cross over into these worlds, it will be utilized in a way that isn’t meant to be expected. I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise of whether or not characters from the show we already know are crossing over.”

WHAT THIS MEANS

After previous rumors of Pascal's desire to be out of Din Djarin's helmet, this latest comment should serve as another solid confirmation that the actor will return as the bounty hunter during Season 3. It is currently unknown if the adventures of the runaway duo (Mando and Grogu) will continue in some form next season, but it is expected that Pascal will take the character in a whole new direction.

Given the ending of Season 2, it's possible that a good chunk of the third season will focus on the Darksaber, considering that this plot point was left unresolved due to the arrival of the Dark Troopers and Luke Skywalker. That said, it looks like Bo-Katan and Mando have a score to settle in Season 3, and it will be exciting to find out how the pair will address the ownership of the famous Mandalore weapon.

The world of The Mandalorian is poised to become much bigger due to the arrival of spinoffs like Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett, and Pascal's tease seems to hint that more character crossovers will happen down the line. This is a given since the aforementioned shows will be set within the timeline of the series, but the execution of how it will all tie together will no doubt keep fans guessing.

During Season 2, whenever a new character shows up in an episode, the inclusion is done naturally and doesn't feel awkward due to the fact that it is integral to the plot at hand. It appears that this trend will continue in Season 3 and the spinoffs, and this should bode well for the upcoming guest stars that will be included.

Whatever the case, The Mandalorian Season 3 is shaping up to be a must-see.
