The Finish Line a Stone's Throw Away

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was initially announced in 2019, several months before even The Rise of Skywalker was released. The journey has been long and painful, requiring the patience of a Jedi that could be arduous at times, but the wait is on the brink of being over.

The game will be another fun addition for all families but will be particularly special for the generation of kids who grew up in the early 2000s. LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game was the first LEGO title to release, coming in 2005 to coincide with the debut of Revenge of the Sith. A game allowing players to pursue the original trilogy's adventures dropped the following year, and 2007 brought everything together into the iconic The Complete Saga game.

The Skywalker Saga will allow those now-adults to relive some of the best parts of their childhoods, all while offering a new generation of Star Wars fans to find the same love for the galaxy far, far away in the form of bricks. The stills shared by TT Games are indicative of just how far things have come; the graphics for the original LEGO Star Wars games were impressive at the time, but the detail in the forthcoming title is incredible.

Fans in their 20s and older should have no shame in being excited about the game. Many of them may have kids of their own now and can share in the experience that the goofy versions of George Lucas' universe, passing on what they have learned. In a short amount of time, the game of the millennia will be within reach.
