LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is next in line when it comes to gaming in a galaxy far, far away. Following the release of The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, many fans anxiously waited for the following year to come around so they could get their hands on the next installment in the LEGO Star Wars franchise. However, due to multiple delays, the game kept getting pushed back, but it is now set for release on April 5, 2022.
The Skywalker Saga is going to bring about more exploration and freedom than any previous installment. It will reportedly have 24 planets for players to spend their time on, and the three trilogies can be played in any order, as opposed to being forced to go through each movie chronologically.
Marketing has recently been at an all-time high when it comes to promoting the game. An official trailer, as well as actual gameplay, has been released by LEGO. They even posted a special Valentine's Day celebration photo showcasing Kylo Ren's obsession with Darth Vader.
LEGO games in the past have been known for having a massive number of playable characters. The Skywalker Saga will be no different, as players will be able to choose from nearly 300 characters, all the way from the smuggler Han Solo to Jedi Master Yaddle. Fans will also be able to play as different versions of the same character, and LEGO recently teased some of those options for a popular Jedi.
10 Versions of Luke Skywalker
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's official Twitter account showcased 10 different versions of Luke Skywalker that players will be able to choose from when playing the upcoming video game.
The video begins by showing Luke in his moisture farmer outfit from A New Hope and goes all the way to The Last Jedi where he is sporting his grandmaster robes, with many different looks in between.
Moisture farmer Luke Skywalker can be seen on the sands of Tatooine with R2-D2 and his X-34 Landspeeder behind him:
Next up is the "Rebel Pilot" Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing uniform in the Rebel Base located on Yavin 4:
After a wardrobe change to the "Ceremony Outfit," Luke is then sporting his gold jacket and medal that he received in A New Hope following the destruction of the first Death Star:
In the opening act of The Empire Strikes Back, Luke and co. are on the snowy planet of Hoth, where he is bundled up in orange and white gear with some snow goggles:
With Master Yoda firmly on his back, the next variation of Luke is from his time on Dagobah, where he is training in a sleeveless shirt and dirty pants:
During his duel with Darth Vader on Cloud City, Luke can be spotted in a jacket and the same pants he was wearing on Dagobah:
The iconic helmet and poncho Luke wears while on the forest moon of Endor is next in line:
Next, Luke can be seen in his "Final Duel" outfit he used on the second Death Star when he confronted Emperor Palpatine and turned his father back from the Dark Side:
With the sequel trilogy coming into play, gamers will be able to use a version of Luke from The Last Jedi in his brown robes with long hair and a beard:
The final variation that was revealed comes from The Force Awakens, and will be Luke sporting his white Jedi Robes:

The Wait is Almost Over
With LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga releasing in just over a month, it is clear that players will have the ability to not only play as their favorite characters but also their favorite versions of that same person.
Past installments in the LEGO Star Wars franchise have offered this same feature, but not to the same extent as The Skywalker Saga. Gamers can expect to see variations of other characters such as Han Solo, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker.
The limitless customization options are one of the many aspects that often draw fans to LEGO games. Players can see what it would be like to insert someone like Finn in the Battle of Geonosis that took place in Attack of the Clones or even see what it would be like if Darth Maul was in The Last Jedi.
While only teases of the game's full potential have been released in the forms of trailers and images, fans won't have to wait much longer before they can dive into the Star Wars universe in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is currently available for pre-order, and will be released on all platforms on April 5, 2022.
