Star Wars: Andor Receives Exciting Disney+ Trailer Update

Andor, Krennic

Andor is one of many projects under the Star Wars brand that is set to hit Disney+ in 2022. The series is set prior to the events of Rogue One and will feature the return of Diego Luna's Cassian Andor as the Rebel Alliance gets sparked into existence. There have been reports that Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic and Forrest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera are also returning, and some rumors suggest that the series could be released sometime in August 2022.

In 2021, Luna revealed that Andor was done with filming. There has not been an official trailer released to the public yet, but a sizzle reel was showcased in December 2020 that featured concept art, some behind-the-scenes looks at sets, and more. It also confirmed that the show will be 12 episodes, making it the longest Star Wars Disney+ project to date.

Even though all eyes are currently fixed on Obi-Wan Kenobi, the first teaser for Andor is due to come out sometime soon. A new rumor now suggests that it may be premiering at one of the franchise's biggest fan events - Star Wars Celebration.

Andor Teaser to Possibly Release at Celebration

According to Bespin BulletinAndor's first official teaser trailer is in the works and could be released at Star Wars Celebration, a fan convention running from May 26-29, 2022 in Anaheim, California. This rumor is in response to Adria Ajorna, a cast member in the series, confirming that she would be attending the convention, meaning that Andor may have its own panel.

However, if the report is true, it is unclear if the footage will be exclusively revealed to attendees of that certain panel at Celebration or if it will be released publicly as well. The report also gave a disclaimer that this rumor only came from one source, so it is safe to take it with a grain of salt.

Andor Footage is Due

Just like a great number of other projects in the entertainment industry over the past few years, Andor has had its fair share of delays and behind-the-scenes changes. The series was announced all the way back in 2018, and even though it has been over three years since then, there has still not been any footage released.

It is important to remember that filming just finished toward the end of 2021, so the studio is still in the process of post-production. If the reports are true that the series will premiere on Disney+ this August, there is still a four-month gap from now until then, so it is still a little early to receive a full-length trailer.

However, even if it was just a one-minute-long teaser with basic footage of planets, some of the characters, and maybe a brief action shot, that would at least be something for fans to get excited about. Due to the high anticipation of Obi-Wan Kenobi's release and the popularity of The MandalorianAndor has flown fairly low under the majority of the fanbase's radar.

Star Wars Celebration is quickly approaching, and while there will be plenty of announcements, the first official teaser for Andor may be one of them.
