Marvel Studios is taking some major steps forward in expanded storytelling, which especially came through at the end of 2021 in theaters and on Disney+. The MCU's last movie of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home, officially gave Charlie Cox his first theatrical role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Meanwhile, his co-star, Vincent D'Onofrio, got to reprise his role as Kingpin, the main antagonist in the Hawkeye series.

After countless weeks of teases and hints toward his return, D'Onofrio's full arrival in Hawkeye sent shockwaves through the MCU fandom. Now that he's back in action, regardless of his "living situation," the actor is openly teasing where he could bring the massive villain back into play in future outings.

One hero D'Onofrio has mentioned multiple times while discussing his future is Spider-Man, particularly considering the hero's new life starting after No Way Home.

In his most recent interview, the Kingpin star once again hinted that he wants his shot at the wall-crawler on the big screen.

In an appearance on the Sarah O'Connell show, Hawkeye star Vincent D'Onofrio reiterated his desire to take on Spider-Man in a future MCU project.

When asked which characters he'd like to interact with in the future, D'Onofrio name-dropped Spidey along with two former Netflix heroes in Daredevil and Punisher. He looked at how Kingpin has ties to all of these characters in the comics and admitted that it "would be really really fun" to see that come to life on the big screen:

“All of them. I mean, it’s obvious that Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man are the ones that my character is tied to in the comic books. But there’s plenty of room for others, I can just only hope that that happens. But I mean, Spider-Man definitely. I think that would be really really fun.”

O'Connell specifically mentioned hoping to see D'Onofrio play Kingpin in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, with which the actor heartily agreed on the sentiment:

“I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see.”

Will Kingpin Appear In Spider-Man 4?

Outside of classic villains like the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, Spider-Man has done battle numerous times in the comics and other media with Wilson Fisk. Most recently, this duel came to life in two projects from 2018 featuring Miles Morales' battle with Fisk in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the Peter Parker vs. Kingpin fight at the start of the PlayStation 4 Spider-Man game.

This potential duel comes into play amongst rumors and reports teasing what may come in the MCU's fourth solo Spider-Man movie, which is already in early development. As fans and media outlets tease what should come into play in that movie and future sequels, D'Onofrio sees an opening for his MCU villain to make his presence felt.

Spider-Man 4 could feature any number of villains from Peter Parker's rogue's gallery, and with Kingpin now back in full force after Hawkeye, the door to a Spider-Man appearance is wide open. Whether Marvel and Sony decide to go that route is unknown, but should it happen, D'Onofrio is as ready for it as anybody.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters. D'Onofrio can be seen in Hawkeye, which is now streaming on Disney+
