Marvel Studios is preparing for a big year in 2022 with close to half a dozen new entries coming to Disney+, one of those being She-Hulk. With Tatiana Maslany bringing Jennifer Walters to life alongside longtime MCU veterans Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and Tim Roth as the Abomination, this series is set to expand on the Hulk's lore for the first time since 2008's The Incredible Hulk.
Although the story details for She-Hulk are largely being kept under wraps, the show is confirmed to be a full-blown comedy effort as the heroine takes direct inspiration from her comic roots. Part of this includes confirmed instances of Jennifer Walters breaking the fourth wall, which even comes in the form of her calling out Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige within the show itself.
Of course, this won't be the only use of comedy, as this series centers on "a woman trying to navigate the world and be taken seriously...despite the fact that she’s well over 6-foot-7 and green," as described by Feige himself at Disney Investor Day 2020.
Thanks to a recent interview with the series' leading lady, fans now know that this will cause some not-safe-for-work issues throughout the plot.
She-Hulk Star on Heroine's Restroom Problems
Warning - The rest of this article contains NSFW content.
Speaking with the Scott Hasn't Seen podcast, She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany explored the idea of some NSFW scene ideas should Marvel Studios decide to do reshoots for the series.
Co-host Shaun Diston suggested the idea of doing "a big s**t scene" due to the heroine's appetite. This led Maslany to wonder whether "the s**ts also transform[s]" into "little poops" when she reverts back into her human form.
"I wonder where, yeah, if the s--ts also transform, if they become little, little poops when she's a little guy..."
Continuing down this path, co-host Scott Aukerman was curious if her s**ts change size after Walters goes to the bathroom in one form or another. Maslany echoed this same sentiment, wondering "if she's She-Hulk, and she's like, 'I have to s--t,' and then she accidentally transforms mid-shit, does it shrink?"
This led to both hosts and Maslany pondering if She-Hulk should take her restroom breaks before she leaves her She-Hulk form to avoid any major issues when she's human again. Maslany went from this point to wondering what She-Hulk is like when she's pregnant or "when she's got her period" and admitting her desire to explore that on-screen.
"What I'm curious about is: What is She-Hulk like pregnant? What is She-Hulk like when she's got her period? These are the things I want to do."
She-Hulk Chat Takes an NSFW Turn
This isn't the first time a discussion about the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken a journey into some interesting topics. From MCU star Paul Bettany confirming the color of Vision's junk to Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon wanting said junk to be seen in Vision's birth, there is more than enough potential NSFW material to explore in the franchise's past and future.
This particular quote is certainly one of the stranger ones to come out of She-Hulk's promotional tour, although it's almost definitely a topic that fans have thought about to some extent or another.
Taking the more publicly-acceptable route, Marvel Studios has an interesting challenge with She-Hulk boasting the same level of intelligence in her Hulk form as she does in human form, something that didn't come for Bruce Banner until Avengers: Endgame. It will also be interesting to see if and how often she switches back and forth between both forms and how mature the material will get in a Disney+ setting.
No matter what the answer is, She-Hulk will assuredly have the opportunity to be one of the funnier MCU properties this side of Thor: Ragnarok. With a heroine that pulls Deadpool-style fourth-wall-breaking tactics and works to navigate her life as a superhero around other superheroes, the possibilities for comedy are endless.
She-Hulk will arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
