Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is filled with new and returning Marvel characters led by Simu Liu's titular Master of Kung Fu

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi introduced fans not just to a whole new ensemble of heroes and villains, but it also expanded the MCU into unfamiliar territory by showcasing a mysterious dimension known as Ta Lo. The expansion led to a wide array of possibilities for Shang-Chi, Awkwafina's Katy, and the rest of the beloved MCU heroes.

Throughout the film's narrative, other side characters were given a chance to shine, such as Fala Chen's Jiang Li and Florian Munteanu's Razor Fist. While Chen's character died during Shang-Chi's childhood, flashbacks were able to enhance her arc in the film.

Meanwhile, Razor Fist experienced a major shift when he decided to help the people of Ta Lo against the Dweller-in-Darkness during the final battle. Doctor Strange's Wong also made a brief but important appearance in the film to pave the way for Shang-Chi's grand MCU future.

Now, special character posters for these MCU characters have arrived.

What's Next for These MCU Characters?

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opened the door for more storytelling opportunities for characters that were involved in the film's narrative.

Based on what's been revealed so far in the MCU's Phase 4, it seems that Wong is taking on a much larger role this time around, as he is being more proactive behind the scenes.

For starters, Shang-Chi implied that Wong and Abomination have some sort of history, meaning that this bond could be explained in a future project like She-Hulk. In addition, Wong's involvement with the rest of the Avengers appears to suggest that he is Kamar-Taj's representative when it comes to communicating with them, and this could hint that he will also appear in another film centered around Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Meanwhile, Fala Chen previously teased in an interview with The Direct that her character might have a future even after Jiang Li's death in the first film. The actress' remarks could hint that more flashbacks will be showcased if Marvel Studios decides to move forward with a sequel for Shang-Chi

Florian Munteanu also confirmed that there were scenes that were scrapped from the final cut that would've featured Razor Fist's backstory even more.

Given that Razor Fist is still a major part of the Xialing-led Ten Rings by the end of the film, it's reasonable to assume that the villain will continue to be a thorn in Shang-Chi's life in the future, and it could also allow the character to be further fleshed out.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now playing in theaters worldwide.
