To help kick off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016, Marvel Studios took a golden opportunity to introduce Tom Holland as the franchise's Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. That threequel set up a partnership between Holland's hero and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark - one that lasted until Stark's death in Avengers: Endgame.

Now, Holland is set to take the reigns in his third Spider-Man solo movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which could very well be the biggest MCU solo movie ever brought to the big screen. Although the MCU's last 2021 movie will take major steps toward changing everything fans know about the franchise with the Multiverse and the film's villains, Holland remains the focus as Spidey faces his most intense challenges to date.

With less than two weeks until No Way Home debuts, Holland is now leading the movie's promotional tour and making appearances at events all over the world to talk about his work. Additionally, he's even paying tribute to Downey with some of the choices behind his appearance on the red carpet.

Holland Stealing Downey's Style for Spider-Man 3

In an interview with AP Entertainment from the GQ Men of the Year Party, Tom Holland openly revealed that he's stealing MCU co-star Robert Downey Jr.'s style for the Spider-Man: No Way Home promotional tour.

Specifically talking about his look during the interview, Holland expressed his love and respect for Downey while also admitting that he's "shamelessly" adapting his mentor's look as his own:

"Listen, he’s a very stylish man, so stealing his style is not the worst thing in the world. The glasses, the suit, the hair, the whole thing. I love him to bits, he’s a lovely guy, he’s been a great role model to me over the last few years, so yeah, I’m definitely stealing his style shamelessly."

Downey Inspiring Holland Off-Screen

Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland have a special relationship that they've built through their time in the MCU together, which includes four movies from Phase 3 of the Infinity Saga. Through that time, Downey took Holland under his wing in many regards, and it appears that the Spider-Man star is unashamedly paying tribute to his mentor in this public setting.

As for the look specifically, the No Way Home headliner does his best Robert Downey Jr. impression with his hairstyle and classy leather jacket as he speaks to the press. It's sure to be one of many looks that he utilizes as he travels the world with the movie's cast and crew, and there's clearly a chance that more of his outfits will have a Downey-esque feel to them too.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut in theaters on December 17, 2021.
