Paul Rudd's Ant-Man 3 Set To Film Scenes In Historic Turkish Region

By Pierre Chanliau Updated:
Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania, Turkey, Cappadocia

It's been debated when the threequel to Ant-Man will be released since it seems even the actors are uncertain. In an Instagram post by Michelle Pfeiffer, she initially commented that the film would be “Coming 2022!” However, that comment was shortly retracted, pointing to that being incorrect or at least yet decided. Then, Michael Douglas said the same thing, although, as of writing this, that claim has yet to be removed.

What can be certain at this point is that filming is planning to start sometime this spring, but where is another question.

It was rumored last year by entertainment insider Charles Murphy that Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania would film at Pinewood Studios UK and serve as a “home base” for the production, according to one report. Now, one filming location has seemingly been revealed.

INTERNATIONAL FILMING FOR ANT-MAN AND THE WASP SEQUEL

Pointed out by Ugurkan Ates, Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, said in a recent interview that Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania would be filming in various parts of Cappadocia, Turkey.

UPDATE: According to Gürkan Göksu, who directly translated what Ersoy was saying in regards to the production, filming has actually already begun in Cappadocia “and several locations.”

MARVEL'S FILMING STRATEGY

To fully explain what seems to be happening, Charles Murphy was correct when referring to the U.K. as the “home base” of the production. It seems apparent that Marvel Studios will set up at Pinewood Studios and fly to various parts of Europe. Murphy had already said that production would film in “yet unspecified locations around Europe,” with Cappadocia, Turkey being one location.

As for filming in Atlanta, Georgia, Murphy said that would be for additional photography, so it seems like most of the production will be taking place in the U.K. and various parts of Europe.

It will be interesting to see whether this threequel will be a globetrotting adventure or not, especially with such a huge villain like Kang the Conqueror being included in the cast.
