Moon Knight is part of Marvel Studios' massive 2022 slate on Disney+. The series will star Oscar Isaac as the titular hero, and he will be joined by a stellar ensemble featuring Ethan Hawke, May Calamawy, Loic Mabanza, and Jean-Paul DuChamp. Moon Knight follows the origin story of Marc Spector, a former mercenary who becomes a hero after being granted superpowers by the Egyptian God, Khonshu.

Despite knowing the project's basic premise, the exact plot details of Moon Knight are still being kept under wraps. This is on top of the fact that the roles of the confirmed and rumored cast members are also shrouded in secrecy.

Still, it is expected that Moon Knight will explore Spector's dissociative identity disorder.

Marketing for Moon Knight has yet to be in full blast, but a special look at the series emerged during Disney+ Day. In addition, Isaac shared interesting comments about the show, saying that "it was the biggest workload I've ever had," but "even yet, I couldn't wait to get set and work."

The MCU series is helmed by several directors such as Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, and Mohamed Diab. Now, new evidence suggests that an actor-turned-director has joined the behind-the-scenes crew of Moon Knight.

George Clooney in the MCU?

The Cosmic Circus unearthed evidence that supports that Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney is directing an episode of Moon Knight for Marvel Studios.

The evidence is courtesy of a Moon Knight art director. The Marvel crew member posted a new update on his website, and one of them is about the MCU series.

The Marvel crew member, who listed himself as an "Assistant Art Director" for Moon Knight, also included Clooney's name as a director for the Oscar Isaac-starring MCU show.

Back in October 2021, The Ronin first reported that Clooney could be directing an episode of Moon Knight

A Bright MCU Future for George Clooney

This latest evidence could strongly indicate that Clooney is heavily involved in Moon Knight

Aside from being an award-winning actor, Clooney is not new to the director's chair. The veteran actor directed several projects, such as 2017's Suburbicon and 2020's The Midnight Sky.

Clooney also has an established working relationship with Oscar Isaac since he worked with him in Suburbicon. The actor's past bond with Isaac could serve as an advantage, thus creating a smooth transition on the set of the Marvel series.

It remains to be seen if Clooney would also portray a character in Moon Knight, but many would agree that his directing stint could serve as his potential launchpad for an on-screen role down the line.

If Marvel already decided to give Clooney a role in Moon Knight, it's possible that he could be playing the Egyptian God, Khonshu. The character is an integral part of Moon Knight's mythology, and it would be fitting to see Clooney in such a role.

Marvel Studios is currently in the age of expanding its roster in Phase 4, and there could be room for an award-winning actor like Clooney in the future.

Moon Knight is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
