It was a big question about who would end up being the villain in the third Ant-Man movie. For the longest time, it was rumored to be MODOK, which ended up being the case for a certain draft of the script . However, who it ended up being caught everyone off guard.

Almost two weeks ago, it was announced that Lovecraft County 's Jonathan Majors was cast in the role of Kang the Conqueror for Ant-Man 3 . Majors' casting left many questions for fans to try and answer , while making it all the more clear about other rumors such as the involvement of the Young Avengers in Ant-Man 3 .

Keep in mind that while this was initially reported by Deadline , it is technically still considered a rumor and unofficial as Jonathan Majors has still not commented on it - until now.

NEWS

In an interview with Jonathan Majors on The Tonight Show , Jimmy Fallon asked Majors if he had heard the rumors about him being cast as the Marvel supervillain, Kang the Conqueror, and if it was true. As is typical at this point, Majors gave quite the non-committal answer with a coy smile.

All Majors had to say in response to Fallon's question was “Man, I heard the same thing, bro. I heard the same thing, it was like ‘What, what, what?’ So, you know, we apparently have the same source, cause I heard it too.” He did not confirm or deny the validity of the rumor.

WHAT THIS MEANS

It seems quite obvious from Jonathan Majors' answer to Fallon that he's likely playing the time traveling supervillain. If he wasn't, he would have just said no instead of dancing around the question and avoiding it entirely. Additionally, if Majors was playing the villain for a movie that wouldn't be coming out until at least 2022, one would think he'd be less cagey about it.

However, Kang could be meant to appear somewhere earlier than Ant-Man 3 that wasn't mentioned in Deadline 's initial report. After all, Loki just happened to go back into production recently , which revolves entirely around time travel and a bureaucracy that helps maintain it. It is entirely possible that Jonathan Majors could be making a smaller appearance on the show before Ant-Man 3 and thus has to still be cagey about his rumored role as Kang the Conqueror.
