Hawkeye is heading towards an explosive finale, and one of the key issues that needs to be resolved is Yelena Belova's thirst for revenge against Clint Barton. Florence Pugh made her MCU debut during Black Widow as the adopted sister of Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff. The pair shared an immense strong bond, but the 2021 MCU film showed that they parted ways due to Nat's wanted status under the Sokovia Accords.

Hawkeye Episode 5 gave an update about Yelena's post-Black Widow adventures, showcasing the character's mission to help all the Widows around the world who were brainwashed by the Red Room. However, it was cut short since Yelena fell victim to Thanos' snap.

As a result, Yelena wasn't made aware of the real cause of Natasha's death during Avengers: Endgame, thus prompting her to seek Clint through the orders of Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Val.

Now, as Hawkeye inches closer to its finale, a special look at Yelena's quest for justice has been unveiled.

Yelena vs. Clint Part 2

The latest Hawkeye footage shows a preview of the intense battle between Clint and Yelena, potentially hinting that it will be more of an emotional affair rather than a brutal one.

Given that Yelena isn't aware of the real reason behind Nat's death, it will be interesting to find out how Clint helps her calm down and explains to her what really happened. Hawkeye Episode 5 teased that Clint knows who Yelena is, and it's possible that Nat shared stories of her throughout their friendship.

That said, Clint should understand why Yelena is so vengeful for her sister's death.

Clint and Nat faced off numerous times during the Infinity Saga, with some being friendly face-offs (Endgame) and others being brutal encounters (The Avengers). There's a chance that Clint's duel with Yelena would have a similar vibe, considering that the latter has the same skillset as her sister.

It remains to be seen if there will be a winner between the pair. It's possible that Clint ends up revealing the truth to Yelena in order to stop her from attacking him and potentially his family. If that ever happens, it's likely that Yelena may accept the truth, and it could make her change sides.

Yelena's potential newfound alliance with Clint and Kate would be a major advantage for the bow-wielding duo, especially considering the looming threats of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin and Vera Farmiga's Eleanor Bishop.

Hawkeye's sixth installment will premiere on Wednesday, December 22 on Disney+.
