After Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Marvel Studios is set to make a grand return to theaters with the arrival of Eternals.
The upcoming Phase 4 entry is directed by Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao, and it will set up a new group of MCU heroes that will be played by a stellar cast including the likes of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, and Barry Keoghan.
As the release date inches closer, marketing for Eternals has been ramping up. Different trailers and promos have been released in the past weeks, showing off the team's powers while teasing its mysterious narrative.
It was also reported that Eternals' runtime is longer than Avengers: Infinity War, making it the second-longest entry in the MCU behind Avengers: Endgame. Despite the longer runtime, plot details are still being kept under wraps.

Eternals vs Deviants: An Intense Showdown Awaits
Eternals has the potential to change the way fans understand the MCU moving forward, mainly because it will explore "the very creation of the Marvel universe itself." There's a good chance that several MCU secrets will finally be unveiled through the perspective of the Eternals in the film.
Disney already confirmed that Eternals will be split into two storylines, one in the past where the team is operating as "as a formidable team and a close family unit" and another that shows them separated and fractured.
This would allow the film to explore the intriguing dynamic of the cosmic immortals on a deeper level while still keeping its promise of unveiling MCU's storied history.
Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi in Eternals, shared that the team is separated into two groups, with five of them being labeled as the thinkers while the other five are the stronger fighters. The thinkers include Sersi, Sprite, Druig, Phastos, and Ajak while the fighters are Thena, Ikaris, Makkari, Gilgamesh, and Kingo.
Separating the team into two respective groups goes to show how dangerous the Eternals can be as individuals but even more so as a team. This would also differentiate the Eternals from the Avengers, thus making it a more interesting interaction whenever these two teams meet down the line.
A centuries-spanning narrative also allows Eternals to showcase many different cultures throughout history, giving each their chance to shine in the film.
Throughout the film's marketing, snippets of the fight between the Eternals and the Deviants have been revealed, establishing the lifelong conflict between the two groups. Given the longer runtime, it seems that Eternals would also expand on the Deviants' motivation to eradicate the cosmic immortals as well.
Aside from its team dynamic, Eternals is also primed to do a deep dive into the background and history of each member of the group. This is important since there is a strong chance that some of the members could serve a much larger purpose down the line, potentially giving aid to Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Eternals is set to premiere in theaters on November 5, 2021, and fans can get tickets now through Fandango.
