Marvel Leak Teases Relationship Between Angelina Jolie's MCU Hero and Another Eternals Character

Merchandise for Eternals has been quite revealing. In one instance, a leak confirmed Kro, who will be a prominent Deviant and enemy of the Eternals. These toy leaks have also shown much better looks at some Eternals, like Salma Hayek's Ajak, which confirmed her as the leader of the Eternals and the only one able to communicate with the Celestials.

Recent leaks showed every prominent character in Eternals through their Marvel Legends figures, albeit in not the best quality. The low resolution of the leaked images made it impossible for fans to read the back of their boxes for potential plot or character details. Fortunately, another leak has occurred, giving fans a much better look at promo art for Richard Madden's Ikaris and interesting tidbits about some Eternals.

New Marvel Legends toy leaks from Eternals shows revealing information describing the “de-facto” partnership between Gilgamesh (played by Don Lee) and Thena (played by Angelina Jolie) due to them having been exiled: 

“The strongest and kindest Eternal, Gilgamesh becomes Thena's de-facto partner when the events of the past exile them from the other Eternals.”

WHAT THIS MEANS

Interestingly, the relationship between Gilgamesh and Thena is described as “de-facto” partners after their exile. It makes sense, considering Eternals themselves are ageless, so in a way, they could only have each other; least they find love in a human and see their partners die of old age over and over again. This concept could, and possibly will, be explored through Sersi and Dane Whitman, an Eternal and human, in the MCU.

As for why both Gilgamesh and Thena banished, it could have something to do with the Deviants, specifically Kro. In the comics, Thena actually had a romantic relationship with the Deviant, to the point of having a son and daughter with him.

As for why the kindest Eternal, Gilgamesh, was exiled, it could involve supporting whatever Thena did or how he possibly defended her.

Regardless of why they were banished, it will be interesting to see how the dynamic between Gilgamesh and Thena will be shown in Eternals.
