After the latest episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, "Old Friends Not Forgotten, aired last Friday, Lucasfilm Animation's Lighting and FX Supervisor Gianni Aliotti tweeted about the possibility for future Clone Wars content. With the next episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars set to air this Friday, Aliotti has taken to Twitter again to share some insight into the series seventh and final season.
In his latest tweet, Aliotti indicates that this week's upcoming episode "The Phantom Apprentice" is guaranteed to impress.
WHAT THIS MEANS
In the synopsis for "The Phantom Apprentice," Ahsoka confronts Darth Maul on Mandalore during the long-anticipated Siege of Mandalore. While Star Wars Rebels fans know what happens to these characters in the future, Aliotti's tweet indicates this particular showdown may rank as one of the best moments of series. Something else to consider is the episode's title as it's a callback to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and our introduction to Darth Maul. Perhaps we will see parallels to the legendary lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Maul?
