Warning - This article contains spoilers for Episode 4 of Loki.
Being the third Disney+ show that Marvel has put out this year, one would think that Loki may not have the same steam that its predecessor, WandaVision, did back when it first came out. However, this is Marvel Studios, after all. So, it's not too surprising to know that Tom Hiddleston's first solo outing has broken records.
The series follows the Loki fans knew from The Avengers as he is suddenly thrust into an entirely different world with an entirely different set of rules to contend with. The show has also introduced Sophie Di Martino to the world, a dangerous Variant that gives Loki a run for his money.
With the idea of Variants being introduced within the show, Sylvie was never set to be the only one to be properly introduced to the audience. In the after-credits scene for the show's fourth episode, the first that Loki has had, viewers got their first glimpses at four additional Variants.
The actor behind one of those, Boastful Loki, has now broken the silence on their role in the show.
BOASTFUL LOKI SPEAKS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Actor DeObia Oparei, the man responsible for bringing the new Boastful Loki to life, posted a photo on his Twitter celebrating his entrance into the MCU.
In the caption, Oparei exclaimed that he is thrilled to be a part of the MCU:"
"Thrilled to be a part of the MCU & excited to have been intro’d in Ep 4 of #LokiWednesdays"
THE BOASTFUL LEGEND APPEARS IN LOKI
The ending of Loki's fourth episode brings up tons of questions, such as where in the world/time is Loki? Who are all of those people standing above him, and why are they there? Is that an alligator Loki? No concrete answers were given, of course, and fans will have to spend their time theorizing while they wait for next week's episode.
The show's credits do, however, confirm that DeObia Oparei is indeed Boastful Loki and is standing next to Kid and Classic Loki. While Boastful Loki doesn't have a direct thread to the comics, it's likely that this could be a creation entirely of the show's making. Maybe this version of Loki just can't shut up about anything and everything they've done.
The day after an episode of any Marvel Disney+ show is the worst. Realizing that one has to wait nearly an entire week to get a continuation is rough, though it does provide plenty of time for discussion and fun theories.
While these new Loki's will no doubt be a huge part of the conversation, it's hard to imagine that something like those robot placeholder Time-Keepers won't be more prominent in all the debates.
The next episode of Loki will stream on Disney+ on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
