Ever since Katherine Langford was cast for Avengers: Endgame in 2018, everyone was wondering who she would play in the movie. Ideas ranged from a minor supporting character, such as Kate Bishop, or even the personification of Death as seen in the original "Infinity Gauntlet" storyline.
When fast went to see the movie for themselves, they found that she was nowhere in it. But, her character was finally revealed in an interview with the Russos on MTV's podcast on Happy Sad Confused and that her scene was cut. This scene would have happened after Tony Stark used the Gauntlet to destroy Thanos and his army.
Katherine Langford would have appeared as a future version of Tony's daughter, Morgan Stark. The scene would have been an attempt to parallel one with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War , in which he's visited by a younger version of Gamora. It was ultimately cut from the movie for confusing audiences too much and not having an emotional connection with this version of Morgan.
However, Langford herself is still interested in the role, according to a new interview from Australia.
NEWS
A Twitter user by the name of @katlangfordgram informed The Direct of an interview Katherine Langford had done with Australian radio show Smallzy's Surgery . In this interview, Langford described how she felt having her scene in Endgame cut and whether or not Marvel Studios has any plans for her to appear in the future:
When asked how she felt about being cut from Avengers: Endgame , Langford didn't appear too broken up about it when she said that "...I figure if you're going to be cut from anything like, to at least have the experience of being cut from the final Avengers film..." She concluded that she is "...just happy to have the memory."
The interviewer then asked her if she has any knowledge she can share pertaining to her continued involvement with Marvel Studios as the character. She said that when she had filmed her scene in Endgame she "...was so scared after doing it because I literally couldn't say anything." She then added that if she did have any insider knowledge, she couldn't reveal it: "I don't know if I would be able to say anything, but I'd love to!"
The interview ended with her essentially denying that Marvel Studios has any plans for her returning at this time, but that she'd "love" to.
WHAT THIS MEANS
It's a bit unlikely that Kathrine Langford will return to the role of Morgan Stark, unless Marvel Studios plans to have another time jump in the MCU on top of the one in Avengers: Endgame . But, considering fans will be getting a series about Loki dealing with time travel and Doctor Strange jumping into different universes , it isn't completely out of the question for her to appear again.
Some fans have pushed forward the idea of Morgan Stark becoming the next Iron Man , but, if rumors are considered to be true, Marvel Studios already has its replacement in mind with Iron Heart .
