Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to push the concept of alternate realities into the forefront, with Benedict Cumberbatch's titular sorcerer at the center of it. Aside from Strange, the upcoming MCU sequel will feature new and returning allies, such as Benedict Wong's Wong, Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. However, based on trailer footage, it seems that Wanda (or a version of Wanda) will be at the other end of the fight, meaning that Strange will have his hands full.

As the film's May release inches closer, marketing has been ramping up. From posters to official merchandise, the main characters that are heavily featured in the promotional push are Strange, Wanda, Wong, and Chavez, indicating that a good chunk of the movie will primarily focus on the four heroes.

While fans wait to see how the four characters will be utilized in the movie, a special look at these heroes has recently been unveiled.

Doctor Strange 2's Marketing Ramps Up

This latest poster shows the three magic users using their powers against an unknown threat, with America Chavez's ability noticeably absent.

This may have been intentional at Marvel's end. Although there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of Chavez's star portals in one of the trailers, the studio seems poised to ultimately unleash the young hero's powers in the sequel's premiere.

Based on what's been showcased in the film's marketing so far, Marvel is trying to indicate that the four heroes will eventually team up against a common threat at some point in the sequel. Previous evidence suggests that the Scarlet Witch is the main villain, but the film's use of the Multiverse presents many possibilities that could overturn this idea.

Multiverse of Madness was confirmed to have an evil Doctor Strange already, and the same could be true for Wanda Maximoff. There will likely be some kind of team-up among the four heroes in the latter part of the movie that could eventually defeat the evil Variants.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere in theaters on May 6.
