Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be the first MCU film for Marvel's 2022 slate. The upcoming sequel will explore the Multiverse like never before, with the titular sorcerer teaming up with new and old allies while also encountering dangerous threats along the way. The film is directed by veteran filmmaker Sam Raimi, and it will showcase the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Master of the Mystic Arts.

Ahead of its May 2022 release, marketing has ramped up for Multiverse of Madness. While the sequel's production has been tightly guarded to prevent spoilers, official merchandise and footage from the movie have slowly unveiled what's in store in its mysterious storyline.

The first trailer teased that the film could suffer the consequences of Strange's spell from No Way Home, thus unleashing the full force of the Multiverse into the prime MCU. The second trailer took it up a notch by teasing the Scarlet Witch's dark turn, Strange's Multiverse-hopping adventure, and Patrick Stewart's return as Charles Xavier

Now, as part of another promotional push for the sequel, an expanded look at the trailer has been revealed in all its IMAX glory.

Doctor Strange 2 and Its Easter Eggs

This latest IMAX trailer for Multiverse of Madness should keep fans busy in terms of finding out the film's hidden secrets frame by frame.

The upcoming sequel is widely expected to be filled with a plethora of Easter eggs, mainly because it will mark the first time that a full-blown exploration of the Multiverse will be showcased. That said, it goes without saying that fans could go all-out in analyzing every frame of the highly-anticipated sequel, meaning that the IMAX expanded aspect ratio should prove to be an advantage when it comes to Easter egg hunting.

A good example of fans' dedication to finding hidden details from Multiverse of Madness was shown when its official poster was unveiled. The promotional poster included several shards that featured a plethora of teases of who may or may not appear in the sequel. What If...?'s Captain Carter was heavily teased while also subtly hinting that Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool could appear.

In the months leading to its premiere, it looks like more interesting details about Multiverse of Madness could potentially be unveiled to intrigue fans, and this IMAX trailer could simply be the tip of the iceberg.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2022.
