Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will serve as the second entry to the MCU's ambitious Phase 4 slate, and anticipation is high due to its upcoming release. The series will see the return of Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes as the pair tries to navigate a world without Captain America while also dealing with the ramifications of Thanos' Snap .

Given that the six-episode limited series from Marvel Studios will debut on Disney+ on March 19 , the marketing for the project has ramped up in recent weeks. So far, a slew of character posters has emerged while several promo spots were also released to provide clues about the overarching narrative of the show.

Now, a unique entry to the show's promotional run has surfaced in the form of a tie-in ad with Xbox.

XBOX TEAMS UP WITH THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER

Xbox officially unveiled a brand-new teaser for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , placing the spotlight on Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as he tries to catch up on a post-Blip world.

Interestingly, this latest promo spot also brought back a returning MCU character from Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the form of DC Pierson's Aaron.

The character was last seen as an Apple Store employee conversing with Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers while the pair hid from several HYDRA agents inside a mall.

A CLEVER MCU EASTER EGG

Many would agree that the interconnected nature of the MCU is one of the franchise's best assets, and this recent promo spot should further bolster that claim. DC Pierson's Aaron was only seen briefly from the 2014 superhero blockbuster, but his character clearly left a mark in the eyes of many fans. In a way, seeing him again is a welcome sight, and it will be interesting to find out if the funny employee will also be featured in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .

Interestingly, this isn't the first time that a previous extra from an MCU film was included in another project, considering that a similar sorcerer from 2016's Doctor Strange also made a brief appearance in the final battle 2019's Avengers: Endgame. This goes to show how Marvel Studios values continuity, and it looks like the trend will continue as the franchise embraces a new chapter. It also helps that Sam is giving a recap of the battle that transpired during Avengers: Infinity War , and it's possible that more references will be revealed in the show.

Meanwhile, Sam mentioned his nephews in the promo spot, further hinting that the character's backstory will be front and center when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier drops on Disney+. Falcon's heroic journey is poised to be the core element of the series, and taking a deep dive into the character's history and family relationship should serve as a needed step for his transition to being the next Captain America.

All in all, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier presents a lot of intriguing possibilities for Falcon and the rest of the MCU, making it a must-see for every fan when it streams on the House of Mouse's streaming service.
