After the resounding success of WandaVision , Marvel Studios will look to keep the momentum going by showcasing the arrival of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .
The upcoming MCU series will follow Steve Rogers' two best friends, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes , as the pair tries to navigate their newfound life in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame .
So far, the marketing for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has made it clear that the main focus of the show is the evolving friendship between Sam and Bucky . The duo had an unusual start to their partnership, initially introduced as foes in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier then slowly becoming partners in Captain America: Civil War all the way through Endgame .
Now, a taste of what's to come for Sam and Bucky has been unveiled in two official clips from the Marvel series.
SAM AND BUCKY TALKS ABOUT THE “BIG 3” IN LATEST MCU CLIP
The Falcon star Anthony Mackie recently took over the Instagram account of Sebastian Stan to officially unveil a brand new clip from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .
In the clip, it shows Sam and Bucky talking about the MCU's "Big 3" while also arguing if Doctor Strange is really a wizard.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Stan jumped over to Mackie's Instagram as well and posted another clip from the upcoming MCU series, showcasing an extended look at the scene where Bucky asks if Sam has a plan before jumping off a plane.
THE MCU'S BUDDY-COP DRAMA/COMEDY TAKES CENTER STAGE
Right off the bat, the two new clips clearly reinforce the idea that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will live up to its promise of being the MCU's buddy-cop action series. The chemistry of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan is apparent in the footage, and it will be interesting to find out how the friendship of their characters will evolve throughout the show's six-episode run on Disney+.
Meanwhile, it was made clear by the sneak peek that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be filled with a plethora of MCU Easter eggs, and this should bode well for longtime fans of the franchise. Given that the real-world scenes of WandaVision included several nods to the larger Marvel universe, the fact that this star-spangled series will take place in a time when everyone is questioning the whereabouts of the Avengers should bolster discussion among viewers, and this could eventually inspire more fan theories on social media .
On top of that, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is also expected to include subtle tributes to key MCU moments as well, as evidenced by the "no plan" exchange between Sam and Bucky. For context, this scene pays homage to an interaction between Iron Man and Captain America from 2012's The Avengers , where the former jumps out in the plane after telling the latter that his plan is to "attack."
This scene is also reminiscent of an early moment in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After bantering with Black Widow about his personal life, Steve Rogers jumps from a plane without even a parachute on his back, baffling members of the STRIKE force that accompanied Cap and Widow on their mission.
Overall, it's no secret that the anticipation surrounding The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is at an all-time high, and these clips should do nothing but drum up the excitement even further.
