The highly-anticipated arrival of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is fast approaching, and this was further amplified by the show's impressive marketing. So far, Marvel Studios has released a plethora of promotional materials for the series to drum up excitement from fans , and it's evident that more will be unveiled as the debut inches closer.

The series was originally supposed to kick off the Disney+ era of the MCU, but the pandemic ultimately derailed that plan . Instead, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will now serve as the second entry of the massive Phase 4 slate of the franchise.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps for the show, but it is expected that its core element will be mainly focused on the friendship between Sam and Bucky. Now, a new featurette has emerged to provide some clues on how this co-worker relationship will be portrayed in the series.

THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER'S FIRST FEATURETTE REVEALED

Marvel Studios officially revealed the first featurette for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , showcasing the dynamic between Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes.

In the video, Mackie described the partnership of Sam and Bucky as “an example of opposites attract” while Stan jokingly shared that there are days when he felt like “[Mackie's] going to kill [him]:”

Anthony Mackie: “It's an example of opposites attract. We couldn't be more different.”
Sebastian Stan: “There are definitely days where I feel like he's going to kill me.”

Mackie and Stan prepare for a scene in the upcoming MCU show in this latest snippet that was taken from the featurette.

The pair continued the fun banter, with Stan comparing Mackie to a fly that “just won't go away” but still pointing out that they have a “very good dynamic.” Mackie quickly intervened by hilariously saying “absolutely not:”

Stan: “He's like, you know, when you have a fly in your house, and it just won't go away. [Laughs] But we have a very good dynamic.”
Mackie: “Uh, absolutely not.”
Stan: “Come on, I'm telling you we got it.”

Sam and Bucky are all suited up as the pair tries to locate a looming threat in this still from the sneak peek.

On a final note, the pair finished off by expressing their excitement toward the much-anticipated Disney+ show, with Stan sharing that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a “throwback to all those buddy-comedy, action movies:”

Mackie: “We have fun with each other, and that carries into these characters.”
Mackie: “I'm so excited because it's exhilarating.”
Stan: “It's a throwback to all those buddy-comedy, action movies. You just don't know if they're going to kill each other or not.”

Daniel Bruhl, returning to play Baron Zemo from 2016's Captain America: Civil War , smiles while taking a break from filming alongside Stan and Mackie on the set of the Marvel series.

Based on the featurette, it's clear that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are both enjoying their newfound dynamic that will be explored in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . The pair's banter in the airport battle in 2016's Captain America: Civil War was an instant classic, and it's safe to say that the upcoming series will provide a much-needed avenue for the duo to showcase it in an extended manner.

After starting off as enemies in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the duo's friendship has evolved throughout the Infinity Saga, and it will be pushed further to the forefront in their very own Marvel series. Given that, it will be interesting to find out how the “co-worker-type” relationship will be transformed into a full-blown friendship, and it seems that this is one core story element that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will resolve in the finale.

Meanwhile, the featurette pretty much confirmed that Daniel Bruhl's Baron Zemo will temporarily team-up with Sam and Bucky at some point in the show. It remains to be seen why the two Avengers decided to trust Zemo, and it will be interesting to find out how this unusual get-together will pan out in the series.

Overall, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier presents a lot of interesting story possibilities, and some of them could evolve in surprising ways.
