With WandaVision finally coming to a close , the second installment in the MCU's Phase 4 lineup is taking the spotlight.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the next Marvel Studios project to take center stage on Disney+, and will presumably take a much more grounded approach than Scarlet Witch's more surreal and sitcom-based solo antics.

While the show will delve into darker themes like Bucky Barnes' messy psyche and mental state , director Kari Skogland reassured fans that the tone will remain "fun, lively, [and] emotionally charged."

With the show dealing with the need for a new Captain America , the new character US Agent will certainly cause a stir for the titular heroes. The new addition to the series' roster may not be entirely villainous though, as there is supposedly another side that fans have yet to see .

In anticipation for the series' March 19 release, new footage has been released to give more insight into what The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will entail...

MORE SAM AND BUCKY BANTER IN NEW TRAILER

A new 30-second trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has released, revealing brand new footage from the upcoming Disney+ series.

The trailer opens with some sort of authority figure stating that "our country is vulnerable," telling his audience "we need new heroes."

A continuation of Sam and Bucky's therapy session is also seen at the eight-second mark, with Falcon enthusiastically saying "let's get to work." This is followed by another new shot of the star-spangled duo turning around to face an incoming, unseen threat.

The teaser most notably features new scenes with Sam and Bucky, exchanging quick banter to establish how they view each other. The Winter Soldier is is quick to say that “we’re not a team…or partners.” Sam finally settles on “co-workers,” a very similar sentiment to how Thor viewed Bruce Banner in Thor: Ragnarok as a “friend from work.”

Other promotional videos show Sam Wilson's descent from an aircraft, but a moment at the 18-second mark shows exactly how Falcon exits the plane as he dives backwards.

THE WORLD NEEDS NEW HEROES

For such a short trailer, a lot of new details have been revealed about the upcoming Disney+ series. The authority figure seems to be in the same location seen in set photos , where US Agent is also present. This could indicate that John Walker may receive a more formal announcement for his acquiring of the Captain America mantle, in addition to the more bombastic one at the football game.

Sam and Bucky's partnership will also clearly be put to the test, with the two once again seem playfully bickering as they learn to tolerate one another. It will be interesting to see how this relationship develops and whether they can truly evolve from co-workers to friends by the end of the show's run.

The co-workers moment does seem to suggest that Sam Wilson's training with the shield shown in other trailers went well, as he holds his gift with Steve Rogers with much more confidence. His bravado carries over to his other battle strategies, as he seems to one-up Cap's Winter Soldier plane dive by choosing to free-fall backwards. The man has got guts.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier soars onto Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
