Fabian Wagner, the cinematographer for both 2017's Justice League and its upcoming Zack Snyder cut for HBO Max, has been releasing a series of behind-the-scenes photos on social media. Thus far, all of them were during production in 2016, with some of them ranging from a simple photo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the Batcave or Zack Snyder messing around with props on set.
The latter was actually accompanied by a comment from Wagner saying, "Super excited to see what bomb Zack is gonna drop on November 17 😄✌️Thanks to all the fans for making it happen 🙏🤘," hyping up an updated trailer release for the cut .Adding to Wagner's behind-the-scenes gallery is a new photo of Henry Cavill's Superman before the actor had grown a mustache for Mission Impossible: Fallout.
NEWS
On his Instagram, Fabian Wagner has posted another BTS photo from the production of Justice League showing Henry Cavill as Superman in the scene shortly after his revival and fight with the rest of the League.
Fabian Wagner commented that "Henry Cavill, right before a take, always with a smile 🤘✌️."
WHAT THIS MEANS
It's cool to see Fabian Wagner so passionate about his work on the initial production of Justice League and excited for Zack Snyder's Justice League mini-series for HBO Max.
The BTS photo of Henry Cavill as a recently revived Superman is a nice reminder for what is still unquestionably the highlight of the original theatrical cut. Considering that Zack Snyder originally shot most of the footage used, it isn't surprising. It will be great to see this scene again, but with the intended lighting and color correction applied, when it releases on HBO Max next year.
