The MCU is moving forward in a bold new way, with films like Eternals and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as new series like Loki and WandaVision. Marvel Studios finally gave fans a new look at the upcoming Scarlet Witch/ Vision series with a trailer and an official poster released online.
WandaVision's specific release date, though, has remained a mystery. However, a new Disney+ listing appears to confirm the general release window for the Marvel series...
ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis has shared that WandaVision is now listed on Disney+ as debuting in December 2020. Previously, the series was listed as "Coming Soon" on the service. Meanwhile, the release for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been updated to 2021.
WHAT THIS MEANS
After months of rumors and speculation, it looks like WandaVision finally has a confirmed release window. Though a specific date in December was not given, it's still exciting to hear that this reality-altering series will be making its way to Disney+ in just over a couple months.
The Mandalorain, which was the first successful original series to be featured on Disney+, premiered in November of 2019, releasing new episodes every week. It looks as if Disney is attempting to replicate that success by placing WandaVision in a similar release window.
With no big-screen premieres or movie theater closures to worry about, WandaVision's release window is very likely set in stone. Though it's clear that this series was intended to release after Black Widow, that film's November release date is rumored to be reconsidered, which means that WandaVision could in fact be the first new MCU content to reach audiences after 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Marvel Studios definitely knows how to build anticipation for a project, and with WandaVision's full-length trailer showing just enough new footage without giving everything away, December cannot arrive fast enough.
