Spider-Man: No Way Home is all anyone can talk about right now, and it's already breaking box office records and scoring well with audiences and critics. Tom Holland's third Spider-Man movie has succeeded in blowing audiences away with huge crowd-pleasing moments that some are saying rival that of even Marvel's biggest film, Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame was the result of decades of work for Marvel Studios as it brought all of Earth's mightiest heroes onto one screen. Following the devastating cliffhanger of Avengers: Infinity War, fans had waited over a year to find out what happened to their favorite characters, which culminated in an epic and emotional reunion scene that had crowds cheering in cinemas worldwide.
The battle against Thanos that followed is also easily the biggest and busiest fight scene that Marvel Studios has produced on-screen with dozens of MCU characters joining together. The on-set mechanics of having so many actors together in one scene also appeared to be challenging. Spider-Man actor Tom Holland was present for the climactic battle scene in Avengers: Endgame and has revealed how he once ruined the momentous scene during filming.
Tom Holland Ruined Take of Avengers: Endgame Battle Scene
In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland explained how he messed up a take of Avengers: Endgame's biggest scene.
Holland said that the direction during the Avengers' final fight with Thanos required everyone to charge on cue as soon as Chris Evans said the words "Avengers assemble."
"I love the scene in Endgame where Captain America, with that amazing like swooping shot where Captain America catches the hammer and he's like 'Avengers assemble!', because Evans was like four or five people down from me, and the direction was 'as soon as he says assemble everyone then screams and charges towards the enemy.'"
However, Holland managed to mess up a take of this by mishearing Evans and charging too early which meant he had to "walk back to all of [his] childhood heroes" in shame.
"But because he was so far away I couldn't hear him say 'assemble' because he says it to himself. So he went 'Avengers!' and then I just went 'Ahhhh!'. I ran off by myself. I got like 30 feet and then I had to turn around and like, walk back to all of my childhood heroes and be like 'sorry guys, I got that wrong.'"
With Great Scenes Comes Great Responsibility
With so many Marvel actors required for the Avengers: Endgame final battle it's no surprise that there were a few bloopers during the filming of the movie. Behind-the-scenes pictures shared by cast and crew from the filming of Endgame have shown what seems to be like quite a fun atmosphere on the set and the scene ended up being everything fans could have hoped for.
No doubt Holland's experiences on Avengers: Endgame helped to prepare him for some of the major scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which already has fans going wild in theatres. Spider-Man: No Way Home has experienced similar levels of hype to Avengers: Endgame due to the fact it also acts as a culmination of years of Spider-Man films. Tom Holland worked alongside even more childhood heroes with legacy villains like Jamie Foxx's Electro, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin returning for the MCU threequel.
Fans will have to wait and see whether Holland has any similar blooper moments from his third Spider-Man film.
