Warning: This article contains potential spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2.
The second season of The Mandalorian is only a few weeks away, and it's anybody's guess on how the narrative will play out this time around. The Jon Favreau-created live-action series clearly made an impression not just on Star Wars fans, but on critics as well since the Disney+ show earned multiple Emmy awards as well as garnering the title of Fall's most anticipated returning title this year.
Previous rumors already hinted that major Star Wars characters will be appearing in the show, with the likes of Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Boba Fett joining the live-action series. Despite that, it is expected that the main focus of The Mandalorian will still be on the mysterious history of The Child a.k.a. Baby Yoda.
The trailer already gave fans a preview of the journey of Mando and The Child throughout the galaxy, and it teased that it will not be an easy trip. Now, new merchandise from the show may have hinted on a potential plot point that The Mandalorian will address.
NEWS
Twitter user Funko Pop News unearthed a new batch of leaked Funko Pops from The Mandalorian, and it showcases several different looks at characters from the show such as Care Dune, a Gorrean Monster, and the Mythrol.
However, the biggest takeaway from the leak is a Funko Pop revolving around Baby Yoda and an egg canister, seemingly hinting that the show will finally provide a glimpse at the Force user's mysterious origin.
Upon further investigation, it appears that the leak was initially posted by Geek PH Store from Instagram, but it has since been deleted.
WHAT THIS MEANS
The origins of Baby Yoda was the prevailing mystery of the inaugural season of The Mandalorian, but the Disney+ series has yet to completely address the matter during that time period. Now, this new leak provides concrete evidence that the hit Star Wars show will at least give fans some answers about the true nature of The Child.
While leaked merchandise doesn't often provide an accurate depiction of how a scene from the series will be portrayed, it's still a safe bet that Baby Yoda will come face to face with the mechanism that paved the way for his birth. It's hard to tell the context of the scene above, but the Funko Pop clearly shows Baby Yoda being fascinated upon seeing the eggs.
Interestingly, during the first season, one of The Client's (Werner Herzog) scientists was wearing a Kamino patch, and Star Wars canon indicates that cloning technology could be at play in terms exploring Baby Yoda's origins. With the merchandise potentially revealing a slew of eggs enclosed in a canister, it is possible that the runaway duo could encounter a cloning facility centered on Baby Yoda, potentially confirming that the Force-wielding user is a clone after all.
Nevertheless, this leaked Funko Pop perfectly captures the innocence of The Child to his own history, and it seems that Mando has a lot on his plate in terms of helping Baby Yoda to unravel all the missing pieces.
