With much of the franchise's focus squarely set on its Disney+ efforts in the near future, fans will have to wait a good while for their next Star Wars adventure tailored to the big screen experience.

Even though it has been a while since fans got a movie set in the Star Wars universe, past cast and crew still get questions about the franchise's blockbuster releases. The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson revealed that he thought Snoke was "fundamentally uninteresting" in comparison to Kylo Ren, wanting to use the Supreme Leader to further Ben Solo's story.

A common question posed to Star Wars alums is whether they would ever return to the galaxy far, far away. John Boyega stated that he would only be comfortable returning if his former co-stars Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac came back alongside him. Ridley had a similar sentiment in that she told fans to "never say never," although she felt the trilogy had come to its natural conclusion.

Another one of the sequel trilogy's stars has been asked the question, though he had a slightly different answer to his fellow actors...

WOULD DOMHNALL GLEESON RETURN TO STAR WARS?

Star Wars

In an interview with ComicBook.com, General Hux actor Domhnall Gleeson talked about the possibility of returning to the Star Wars universe.

The Rise of Skywalker star revealed that he would be up for making any sort of reappearance, but only "if the story’s good:"

"A couple people have asked because there is so much stuff happening in the Star Wars universe, but it’s always about if the story’s good. I’m up for anything if the story’s good, you know?"

Despite this, Gleeson was content with the opportunities that he has had, saying that he "did plenty:"

"So yeah, bring it on, if so, and if not, I think I did plenty. Three movies is a lot."

A FUTURE FOR GENERAL HUX

It is pleasing to hear that Domhnall Gleeson would be open to reappear in the Star Wars galaxy, especially considering how he was handled in his last major in-universe appearance. General Hux was revealed to be a First Order turncoat in The Rise of Skywalker but was swiftly killed off.

Another appearance from the character could give Armitage Hux an opportunity to be fleshed out more and allow Gleeson to explore other avenues of the character, such as the relationship with his father.

Domhnall Gleeson has reprised his role as Hux outside the films on a few occasions, including a voice-acting appearance in Season 1 of Star Wars: Resistance, a voiceover role for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and two portrayals of the character for various Star Wars-themed park attractions.

Clearly the actor is not afraid to revisit Hux's character, so hopefully, a good enough story comes along to convince Gleeson to come back to the role again.
