Now that the finale for The Book of Boba Fett has come and gone, fans are looking to the future of Star Wars on Disney+; and in comparison to previous years, there's a lot to look forward to, including Obi-Wan Kenobi on May 25, 2022, Andor, and Season 3 of The Mandalorian. However, one of the most intriguing Star Wars Disney+ series in the works has to be Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson

Anakin Skywalker's former padawan, Ahsoka Tano, made her debut in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars before becoming a fan-favorite character in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series

She then made the jump to live-action in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, laying the groundwork for her own story and Disney+ series involving Star Wars Rebels villain, Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Following Ahsoka's most recent appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, Lucasfilm has added a new member to the show's growing cast; however, it's probably not who you think.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Ray Stevenson from Vikings has been cast as a villainous admiral for Lucasfilm's upcoming Ahsoka Disney+ series starring Rosario Dawson.

While many Star Wars fans anticipate that Thrawn will serve as one of the series' primary villains, sources say Stevenson won't be playing that particular fan-favorite baddie. However, just who his character will be is currently unknown.

In addition to Rosario Dawson, Stevenson joins Birds of Prey's Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Pacific Rim: Uprising's Ivanna Sakhno, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker

Still, Stevenson is no stranger to that galaxy far, far away. The actor provided the voice for Mandalorian Gar Saxon in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

An Ever-Expanding Galaxy of Disney+ Characters

Once Ahsoka begins filming in April, it's likely that Star Wars fans will hear more about its ever-growing cast and the series' plot itself which, due to the show's logo, looks to touch on the World Between Worlds first introduced in Star Wars Rebels.

As to who Stevenson will play, one possibility is Gilead Pellaeon.

Originally a Star Wars Legends character and a loyal Imperial officer who becomes Thrawn's right-hand man, Pellaeon appeared in Thrawn: Treason by Timothy Zahn followed by a voice cameo in a single episode of Star Wars: Rebels courtesy of voice actor Jim Cummings.

Since Pellaeon is now canon and was present during the events of the Star Wars Rebels finale, it would make sense for audiences to see him again alongside Thrawn and in live-action.

If not, it's still likely that the rank of Stevenson's character will result in him sharing the screen with the Grand Admiral in some form or fashion. And, while Stevenson is confirmed to be one of Ahsoka's antagonists, it will be interesting who else he's put into conflict with due to Star Wars' Disney+ standard of character cameos
