Disney+ Star Wars content is about to kick into high gear, as The Book of Boba Fett is set to arrive on December 29. 2022 will bring the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor to streaming screens, followed by one of the most anticipated entries in Star Wars lore: Ahsoka. The character was a fan favorite from animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and went on to play a crucial role in Star Wars: Rebels.
Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian's second season, with Rosario Dawson bringing the character to life. After a strong response from fans, Lucasfilm green lit a spin-off series completely dedicated to the character.
Since Ahsoka's announcement, fans have been anxiously awaiting any news. Recently, they were rewarded with the announcement of Hayden Christensen's return as Darth Vader and the addition of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren.
Now, Disney has another announcement up its sleeve.
Ahsoka Gets a New Cast Member
Deadline has reported
She will be opposite of Rosario Dawson, who will be reprising her role as the titular character
Sakhno has also had roles in The Spy Who Dumped Me and the Hulu series High Fidelity.
Ahsoka Gets Some Help From The Pacific Rim
It's always fun when a potential original character is announced. Viewers could be looking at the face of a new fan obsession––just look at how Pedro Pascal's Mando turned out.
Original or not, what could her role be? A lot of the rumored plot circles around Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka looking for Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn, two major characters from Star Wars: Rebels.
Sadly, fans have quite a long ways to go before Ahsoka hits Disney+. While production is scheduled to begin next year, the series is without a release date. It could be as far away as 2023 before fans see Dawson's beloved character again.
Until then, there will thankfully be some other Star Wars shows to focus on, as The Book of Boba Fett starts streaming on December 29.
