Star Wars Casts Live-Action Sabine Wren

The upcoming slate of Star Wars content on Disney+ is something to behold. Projects like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor highlight the next twelve months for the franchise, but it's the supposed first Star Wars streaming series of 2023 that will turn plenty of heads.

Ahsoka is in the process of shooting right now and looks be aiming for an early 2023 release date. Rosario Dawson is back as Jedi Master Ahsoka Tano after her live-actiion debut in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, and Hayden Christensen will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker in some capacity

One name that has remained blank on the call sheet for the project has been Mandalorian Sabine Wren. Well, Ahsoka has apparently found their hand-painted Mandalorian in The Society and Guns Akimbo's Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

Deadline revealed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine Wren in the upcoming Ahsoka series. Bordizzo will star opposite Rosario Dawson in this live-action Disney+ project.

Another Live-Action Debut

It has been known for some time that Sabine would be closely tied to the Ahsoka series. The project will supposedly center on the search of Ezra Bridger, by way of the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn, a journey that Ahsoka and Sabine set off on back at the end of Rebels. So it was only a matter of time before the neon-colored Mandalorian was cast.

As for how Bordizzo will fare in taking on the beloved animated character in live-action, she seems like the perfect fit. In her time on The Society and in movies like Wish Dragon and The Greatest Showman, the young actress has shown that she possesses the signature spunk that's required to take on the character.

What will be interesting to see is what Sabine looks like now that years have passed since the end of Rebels. Will Natasha have to rock the shorter hair with the Sabine splash of color? Probably!

Even if she doesn't and Wren has gone a little more natural, Natasha Liu Bordizzo has the look to pull this role off.
