Spider-Man: No Way Home is less than two months away, and anticipation for the film couldn’t be any higher.
Villains from previous Spidey franchises are confirmed to appear in the MCU’s third web-swinging adventure, including Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jaime Foxx’s Electro. Director Jon Watts even claims that the third MCU Spidey film should be considered as “Spider-Man: Endgame.”
Many rumors and rumblings have suggested that Tom Holland’s third solo outing as Spider-Man will also bring Marvel’s legacy wallcrawlers back into the mix — namely Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Despite no confirmation, most fans expect to see their favorite former Spideys join the action against their respective villains in this multiverse mashup. But now, it seems even more likely that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will reprise their roles as Spider-Man after Sony’s latest marketing stunt.

Online retailer Zavvi has revealed that Sony is releasing two new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray box sets celebrating their legacy Spider-Man films.
Tobey Maguire’s remastered Spider-Man trilogy gets a fresh, updated look bringing full attention to his classic Spider logo on its first box set since being released on Blu-ray in 2017.
Dating back almost twenty years, this 4K-remastered set includes Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3.
Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also get the remastered treatment on Blu-ray.
Both sets will be available in the U.K. on November 8, 2021.
This box set includes a 4K-remastered The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Marc Webb's pair of Spider-Man flicks are known to be especially visually pleasing, so getting to watch these in HDR will be a real treat.
Swing Into HDR with Tobey and Andrew
It’s hard to avoid stating the obvious; it would only make sense for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to be involved in No Way Home in some capacity.
The timing of this giant remaster release is surely no coincidence as December’s Spider-Man: No Way Home promises to feature villains from most of the five legacy Spider-Man films that originally squared off with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
There have been numerous rumors and leaks pointing to the former webheads appearing in No Way Home as well — some real, some fake. But various marketing and even on-set leaks online have made it hard to deny that Tom Holland won’t be the only Peter Parker in the third MCU Spider-Man installment.
Despite the constant denial (and admirable effort), Sony remastering every legacy Spider-Man film only brings more attention and relevance to those films and their characters.
Hopefully, a new trailer is on the horizon that will give fans some more info on who they can expect to see in the threequel. Catch Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters on December 17.
