Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Receives Surprising Honor on Disney+ Show

As 2021 inches closer to its end, Marvel Studios moves toward the finish line for its most content-filled year to date within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Much of this is coming from Marvel's new venture into storytelling on Disney+, which has produced four wildly successful shows thus far before ending the year with Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye.

Recently, the first critics reviews for Hawkeye came to light, with many of them celebrating the MCU's fifth Disney+ exclusive as arguably the best one to release to date. Hailee Steinfeld's MCU newcomer Kate Bishop is stealing the show with her energy and skillset, and Clint Barton seems ready to take over the spotlight in a way he's never done before in his past MCU movie appearances.

This series will give Jeremy Renner the first chance in his MCU tenure to play the role of leading man after Hawkeye was mostly relegated to supporting parts in his previous MCU outings.

Leading the way once again for this show is Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who is showing no signs of slowing down with over two dozen Marvel Studios titles in the works for the next few years. Hawkeye even marks a new achievement for the longtime Marvel Studios executive, which was seen in the credits of the upcoming series.

Kevin Feige Gets New Credit in Hawkeye

Fandom's Eric Goldman revealed on Twitter that Marvel Studios' Hawkeye gives two mentions of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige in each of the credits of its first two episodes.

Along with being listed as the show's Executive Producer, the show's credits now end with the following accolade:

“Marvel Studios Presents

A Kevin Feige Production”

This marks the first time Feige has received this type of vanity credit on a Marvel Studios production, as past MCU projects would simply go right from "Marvel Studios Presents" to the show or movie's title, such as in Loki's credits:

An Unprecedented Move by Marvel Studios

Kevin Feige is nearly in a league of his own as an executive after helping build the MCU from the ground up for the better part of 15 years.

His first producer credit came on 20th Century Fox's X-Men back in 2000, and he finished with over a dozen similar credits before helping develop Iron Man for release with the newly formed Marvel Studios. Since then, his name has been directly attached to all 30 MCU movies and Disney+ shows in Phases 1-4, and his role has expanded mightily in that time span too.

The Marvel Studios President hasn't been reported to be changing roles any time soon, although this means he will still be overseeing every aspect of the MCU for the foreseeable future. This new credit shouldn't change for many of the MCU's future projects over the next two years, and Feige will continue to be a key player in how the widely-popular franchise expands into new stories.

The first two episodes of Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
