Loki is set to take center stage on Disney+, exploring a new layer of Tom Hiddleston's complex Marvel Cinematic Universe character. Directed by Kate Herron, the upcoming Marvel series will serve as the third entry of Marvel Studios' small screen endeavors, following the impressive runs of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
After dying at the hands of Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War, the God of Mischief is set to make a triumphant return, but this version will be different since it will follow the Loki "variant" who escaped during the Time Heist from Avengers: Endgame.
Marketing for the show has revealed that this Loki will be recruited by the Time Variance Authority, an organization that is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the timeline. Of course, a show with the God of Mischief will not be complete without the madness part of the character, and the trailer suggests that there will be a good chunk of it throughout the narrative.
While fans speculate on how this Loki will be different from the prime variant of the character, a new poster has emerged to boost more hype for the upcoming MCU series.
TOM HIDDLESTON TAKES CENTER STAGE IN NEW LOKI POSTER
Ahead of its release next month, Marvel Studios officially unveiled a brand-new poster for Loki, showcasing a stunning look at the main cast members of the series including the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
THE CRAZY PLOT OF TOM HIDDLESTON'S LOKI SHOW
Loki is four weeks away from its premiere, and this new poster will definitely keep the anticipation high for the Marvel series.
Loki's costume from 2012's The Avengers has been a major staple of the show's marketing, and this could hint that this specific place in the timeline will be revisited multiple times. In a way, this makes sense since this point was an important part of the villain's arc in the Infinity Saga, and this could also serve as a launchpad for a whole new exploration of the character in the Tom Hiddleston-led project.
Owen Wilson's Mobius and Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Judge Renslayer are expected to play huge roles in the show, with the pair helping out Loki to correct his multiverse-sized mistake for the sake of timeline. The poster seemingly reveals a new and exciting addition to Loki's adventures in the form of Miss Minutes.
Miss Minutes is the mascot of the Time Variance Authority, and including him in the promotional poster indicates that she will play a pivotal role in the show. It remains to be seen how this new character will be used, but it looks like she will serve as Loki and the viewers' introduction to the time-based organization.
There's also a chance that Miss Minutes will be included in several missions to help out Loki, potentially serving as comedic relief for the fans to enjoy.
Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 9, 2021.
