It's currently not clear who the actress shown in the role is or how big her role will be in the film. However, Snyder confirmed, following some speculation, that the actress is not James Bond star Judi Dench, saying “I wish. But no.”

WHO IS GRANNY GOODNESS?

Granny Goodness is a major villain for Superman and the New Gods. The villain — who made her live-action debut in Smallville — hails from Apokolips, the Darkseid-ruled planet from which Steppenwolf and the Parademons also originate. With a New Gods movie currently in the early stages of development, it's entirely possible Goodness could also play a role in the film.

The amount of footage shown on Apokolips and the huge number of characters from there seems to be suggesting the planet will play a big role in the new cut of the film. Those who have followed the DCEU since Snyder's reign will be aware the director originally intended for Justice League to be a two-part movie, which would have put the heroes up against Darkseid.

While this vision will never truly see reality as this appears to be the end of the line for Snyder's DCEU, it's exciting to see a peak at what was intended for the future.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will debut on March 18, 2021, exclusively on HBO Max.
