Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may still be more than 18 months away, but many sit in eager anticipation for the latest of James Gunn's intergalactic Marvel epics. The upcoming threequel is set to be the biggest adventure yet for Star-Lord and co. and will hit theaters in May 2023. Not much is known about the project, but a recent casting confirmation has turned some heads.

After his character was teased in GOTG Vol. 2, it was recently unveiled that actor Will Poulter will be taking on the role of Adam Warlock in the upcoming Guardians sequel. Warlock is most well known for helping to end the Infinity War storyline in the comics, but with Thanos gone, he won't be assuming the same role in the MCU's intricately-woven tapestry.

One other thing Mr. Warlock is known for is his long blond locks. In most appearances of the character, he sports luscious, flowing blond hair, something Poulter will surely add to his look as filming ramps up

Will Poulter Goes Blond for Guardians 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 actor Will Poulter tweeted a photo of himself rocking long blond hair in preparation for his role of Adam Warlock in the MCU:

Poulter's tweet was meant to highlight his work for Alzheimer's Research UK but just happens to give fans the first look at him with those signature Warlock locks.

The Guardians actor has also been seen out in public sporting the heroic look, confirming that he in fact has dyed his mop on top:

While Poulter's natural hair probably could have sufficed on-screen in GOTG Vol. 3, it does make a lot of sense for him to go blond for the role. Adam Warlock's hair is one of his distinguishing features, so surely something would have felt like it was missing if he was going with his natural light brown when he joins the Guardians team. At least to start this is a solid move by Poulter and the filmmakers here to make the character recognizable.

To think if Black Widow hadn't first shown up in Iron Man 2 with her signature ruby red hair, there would have been uproar saying that this didn't really feel like the character. Then a few movies down the line Marvel could change things up for the character, giving her the blond she had in Infinity War.

Well, the same principle could be used here. Get audiences on board with the character with his iconic look, then down the road if the MCU brass wants to change things up, they can signify some sort of change.

However, with filming only having just started, it will be some time before fans get their first taste of Poulter as Adam Warlock, as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2023.
