After a successful Infinity Saga, the MCU is now moving on to its next chapter, and it's clear that the franchise is willing to take more risks in terms of creating deeper storylines for its characters.

In conjunction with that, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is introducing story elements that could potentially change the MCU like never before such as John Walker's Captain America and the secret behind the super-soldier serum.

During the third episode of the show , the latter plot point was pushed to the forefront since it was revealed that the serum was successfully recreated by Dr. Wilfred Nagel, but more details about his achievement were cut short when he was killed by Zemo .

Given that, Sam and Bucky will need to work harder to find out what's really happening with these serums, but the inclusion of the Flag Smashers and the dangerous Power Broker will make this task more difficult for the pair.

While fans are speculating about the next move of the core characters of the show, a new batch of promotional images for the episode has emerged.

ZEMO AND SHARON TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT

Marvel Studios officially released a brand-new poster for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Instagram, highlighting the mysterious Madripoor island alongside Zemo and Sharon Carter.

THE MYSTERIOUS ARCS OF ZEMO AND SHARON

While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is still Sam and Bucky's show, these posters should serve as a fitting reminder of the heavy involvement of Zemo and Sharon Carter. The two characters were part of the main campaign of the series before its debut on Disney+, and it's only right that they are given the chance to shine through these promotional images.

On the surface, it was made clear by the third episode that there is something else going on with Zemo and Sharon.

Clearly, Zemo is still a villain, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal of eradicating super-soldiers. At some point, Zemo will likely betray Sam and Bucky, thus leading to a potential showdown.

It remains to be seen if The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the last hurrah of Zemo in the MCU, but it's possible that the show could be used as a springboard for the character's next pit stop like the long-rumored Thunderbolts project .

As for Sharon, the former FBI/SHIELD agent appears to be at peace with her new life in Madripoor, but there were a few hints in the episode that there is a larger story for the character. Fans have speculated that Sharon will end up as the MCU's version of the Power Broker , and it will be heartbreaking for Sam and Bucky if this theory is correct.

Whatever the case, the remaining episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be a must-see, and it's all but certain that Zemo and Sharon will both play major roles.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
