The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's first episode is less than 24 hours away from premiering on Disney+. The series will feature longtime MCU heroes Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they navigate life after the Blip which resulted in their disappearances (along with half of all life in the universe) for five years.
The review embargo for the premiere lifts today, but at this point, little information about the episode is publicly known.
Fortunately, a Reddit user who has been verified as having legitimate information revealed an important tidbit about what fans will get to see tomorrow.
AND THE TITLE IS...
Reddit user Plenty_Echidna_545 posted that the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is titled "New World Order."
The source was verified as legitimate by the Marvel Studios Spoilers subreddit moderators. The user said they had no additional information on the episode but would share if they receive more.
A POST-BLIP WORLD
This title has a lot of implications about the state of the world after the Blip and the conflicts that will arise in the series. Viewers got a taste of this sort of thing in WandaVision, but that series was mainly focused on the internal happenings of the Hex and less so on the world outside it.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier promises a much more grounded look at the way things are after the event that rocked the universe, and the title of its first episode implies that it will explain how the world is functioning after the trauma it resulted in.
The series has been revealed to take place six months after Avengers: Endgame, which means the world will likely have somewhat adjusted to the return of half its inhabitants. However, an event with the magnitude of the Blip is sure to change society forever. The focus on the world needing "new heroes" in the absence of an Avengers team has been hinted at in TF&TWS's marketing and is sure to be a major focus of the series.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ March 19, 2021.
