The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is currently the main topic of discussion among MCU fans, especially after the successful debut of the series. Directed by Kari Skogland , the show is the second project in the superhero franchise's massive Phase 4 slate, and it is mainly focused on the post-Blip life of titular characters Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.

After the first episode managed to show what's happening to the duo, the next installment featured the much-awaited reunion of the heroes . From the get-go, the dynamic of Sam and Bucky was pushed to the forefront, essentially becoming a visual treat for fans of the show.

On top of that, the history of John Walker and the motivations of the Flag Smashers were also revealed. Now, to celebrate the release of the latest episode, a new batch of stills has emerged.

JOHN WALKER'S MCU STORY EXPLORED

This latest set of stills from the highly-talked-about episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier should serve as a reminder of the show's interesting narrative. The legacy of Captain America remains the driving force of the show, and the first two episodes of the series clearly doubled down on that aspect.

No doubt, the surprise decision of the government of naming a new Captain America caught Sam and Bucky off guard, and it will be interesting to find out how the reaction of both heroes will carry over in the coming weeks. For now, the public appears to be on-board with the idea that there is a new Star-Spangled hero, but it's possible that Walker has secrets of his own that could jeopardize the mantle.

The chemistry of Sam and Bucky remains central to the show, and it looks like the friendship (a.k.a. co-worker relationship) of the two heroes will continue to evolve in the next set of episodes. So far, it seems that they are forced to work together, but evidence suggests that the titular pair will look out for each other in the long run.

All in all, the recent installment of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stayed true to the action-packed roots of the MCU while also teasing a larger mystery that could shake the landscape of the franchise to its core.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
